East Asia Center
The East Asia Center was founded in 1975 to provide a forum for faculty and students interested in East Asia. It currently sponsors a speaker series, grant programs, and promotes academic activities and cultural events related to East and Southeast Asia.
Contemplative Sciences Center
The Contemplative Commons is a dynamic complex of spaces designed to foster organic exploration of new ways of experiencing the world. Light-filled indoor spaces, integrated outdoor areas, and art installations inspired by nature promote immersive experiences and afford opportunities for contemplative practice for students and the community.
Institute of the Humanities and Global Cultures
The Institute of the Humanities and Global Cultures is the University of Virginia’s center for humanities research and interdisciplinary collaboration. Founded in 2011, our mission is to advance humanistic research and inquiry across the disciplines through innovative programming, institutional collaborations, and faculty-led initiatives.
